This week's spotlight for PHS teachers is Mr. Jacob Meisner. He has been at Princeville High School for 4 years as the Agriculture teacher. He also teaches exploratory for the junior high kids. This year Mr. Meisner is hosting Mr. Wei as a student teacher. Mr. Wei is his first student teacher since he has started working at Princeville High School. To learn who Mr. Meisner is, we took a look at his past and his hobbies. Mr. Meisner graduated from the University of Illinois in Champaign studying Agriculture. He grew up on a farm in Piasa, Illinois with his parents and 2 sisters who are younger than him. He is 29 years old and his favorite color is blue. When he is not teaching he is working out in the gym or woodworking.

His favorite sports are basketball and baseball. He also enjoys watching Nascar. Since Mr. Meisner is involved in Agriculture, he is also the leader of the Princeville FFA Chapter. Mr. Meisner is the Princeville FFA Advisor, meaning he is the one who takes control and makes sure that everybody is in line. He is also the one who is in charge of everything that goes on in the Princeville FFA Chapter. One question that we thought was interesting was why he picked agriculture. Having grown up on a farm he said he wanted to do something that involved the farming industry. Mr. Meisner wanted to do farming but at the moment it was not available for him. After one of his college classes, he decided that he wanted to pursue teaching agriculture. He chose teaching for his second choice because he knew that teaching would help other people learn about farming. He was excited to become an Ag teacher because he felt he was still in his farming element. One of Mr. Meisner’s favorite quotes is “I am an agriculture teacher by choice not by chance.”
