Senior Spotlight

By Rylee Calzavara and Claire Wieland

As the second semester begins and the end of another school year looms on the horizon, students, especially seniors, have to consider their future. Grace Conrad, a senior student who has a definite plan for her future, shares her input and plans for her post-high school career. She would like to major in Graphic Design and minor in Business Marketing.

“I have had an interest in design and digital art since sophomore year,” Conrad said. Her skill and interest in the discipline are clearly valued in the school and community. Already this year, she expertly redesigned all of the Princeville CUSD logos.

At the top of her list for her future education is Eureka College, followed by University of Saint Francis, and then Illinois Central College. Each of these colleges has its own draw, but she loves the idea of small campuses that are close to big cities with plenty of opportunities.

Conrad has a bright outlook on the future, and when asked what most excites her, she responded, “I'm most excited to start living independently, to learn new things, and to meet new people.” Of course leaving the safe bubble of a small town can be scary, but Conrad faces it with optimism. She adds she will miss the high school friendships she has made the most, but she is also excited to meet new people who share her interests.
