Senior Spotlight

By Destiny Herrmann

With graduation less than three months away, seniors at Princeville High School are realizing that their plans for the future are about to become reality. Sayde Davis, one of Princeville’s class of 2019 seniors, explained her plans and goals.

Davis feels that her experience at Princeville High school has allowed her to “feel confident that [she] is prepared for college.” The sports she participated in, softball and cheerleading, taught her valuable lessons on teamwork and commitment. She will miss the relationships that she gained at Princeville “and the activities, like Prom or spirit week, that allowed students to express themselves and have some fun.” While there are many things she will miss, Davis is still eager to graduate.

“I’m most excited to learn how to manage on my own after graduation and to make the best out of my experience in college,” Davis said.

These goals for college are similar to the advice she offers younger students still in high school:

“Explore new interests and try new things because there are many opportunities that will arise during your high school years!”

Davis exemplifies exploring a variety of interests. She will be attending Bradley University this fall and is beginning in the Academic Exploration Program which is designed for students who are undecided on their major to familiarize them with various degree options. We wish her the best as she leaves Princeville High School and explores the many possibilities for her future!
