Our Food, Faith and Farming Fortnight theme this year was Respect — a core British Value, as well as a focus for us through our school’s values and our BLP (Building Learning Power) character, Raya the Respectful Butterfly.
During this fortnight, we have explored together how Respect can be applied in all areas of life, from how we relate to our food sources to how we engage with different faiths and communities, as well as in our appreciation for farming and the natural world around us.
Raya the Respectful Butterfly teaches us the importance of belief, positivity, mindfulness and regard for others. These values have underpined all our activities across the last two weeks.
At our EXHIBITION OF LEARNING, we learnt with our families that Diwali is the Hindu festival of lights. We learnt that Diwali symbolises the spiritual victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance.
