Our curriculum includes ambitious plans for children based on our knowledge of what they need to know and experience, in order to be ready for school. We also follow national guidance provided in the Early Years Framework. Developing essential skills and effective learning behaviours, supports children in developing a love of learning and achieving success. Our long term plans detail our themes for learning.
We encourage children to share their ideas for learning and to talk about their interests. This also informs our planning in responsive ways and ensures the children engage well in their learning.
Awe and wonder are essential feelings and are an entitlement for every child to experience. Our balance of carefully planned learning and responsive experiences enable this to happen in abundance.

Our nursery routines and areas of provision inside and outdoors encourage children to develop their relationships with others, their physical skills and increase their knowledge and skills in communication and language, literacy, maths, understanding the world and creative development. Stories, mathematical knowledge and understanding and the natural world lie at the core of teaching and learning, promoting curiosity, deepening understanding and supporting the growth of knowledge and skills across the curriculum.
We have strong links with the local community and place great value on taking children out into the local community in small groups. We have extensive school grounds which enable us to provide rich, first hand experiences to support the development of knowledge and skills linked to understanding of the world.
Each half term we link teaching and learning to themes which are set out in our plan for the year. We call this the long term plan. This enables us to ensure our curriculum is progressive, engaging and meets the full range of knowledge and skills we know children need to be taught.
Our nursery staff play an essential role in children's development. We have an experienced team of early years specialists who guide, nurture and challenge children to achieve their full potential through play based learning. Our underpinning plans ensure there is sufficient structure to our teaching and our adaptive approaches enable every child to feel valued, confident and develop life long learning behaviours.
We value the role parents and carers play in children's development and place high regard on working together. We use an online journal which enables parents and carers to join in with sharing achievements between nursery and home.
Inside and outdoors we used a rich array of resources to engage children and spark curiosity and wonder about the world in which they live. A strong emphasis on the natural world with natural resources and materials supports children in making connections between their learning in nursery and their experiences in the wider world.
Adult teaching and interactions with children as they work and play are key to supporting the effective development of knowledge and skills across the curriculum.
We provide open events throughout the year for prospective parents. Click the link for further information:
