Native American Cultures of the Upper Midwest

About the Project

In conjunction with the four-part PBS documentary Native America, Prairie Public has created a digital project to share the voices and perspectives of Indigenous People from our region. This project, Native American Cultures of the Upper Midwest, is funded in part by a grant from PBS for the Anne Ray Foundation.

The project includes videos from regional interviews and events, related education resources, and conversations centered around the PBS Native America documentary. We hope to increase awareness, deepen understanding, and grow better relationships between all who live and work in our region, and at the national level.

Join in by going to: pbs.org/nativevoices. Or tag your story on social media with #NativeVoicesPBS.

We will be sharing these project resources through a variety of education platforms and settings. Keep an eye out here, and at prairiepublic.org/education, for virtual and in person professional development opportunities. We will also be adding video and education materials as they become available, so check back with us again. Thank you!
