Justin Deegan
BIO
Justin Deegan is a citizen of the Mandan, Hidatsa & Arikara Nation. While his interests include art, music, and movies, he is pursuing his passion for photography and filmmaking. His recent works include music videos for Cempoalli 20, an L.A. based reggae artist, and a series of Native American oral history documentaries. He also completed the short film About That Life. Justin has had the pleasure of working on Viceland's RISE; he was initially hired to do photography for the shoot, and subsequently did drone footage, b-camera work, and audio engineered several scenes, for the Standing Rock episodes. Other production includes working as a stills and drone operator with Michelle Lattimer , and as Director of Photography and Audio Engineer on a total of 6 episodes with Native American Director, Stacey Thunder, on her web series titled, "Indigenous with Stacey Thunder." He also worked was a Cinematographer the last two years for Indigenous Director Tracy Rector on the Billy Mills, "Dream Starter," series. Justin continues to work on several oral history projects regarding the legacy of the Mandan, Hidatsa and Arikara Nations.
