Forecasting Instructions:

Forecasting provides students with the opportunity to identify the core courses required to graduate as well as elective courses available that can both enhance and support their school experience. 

PPS requires 24 credits to graduate. A full schedule of eight classes provides students with the opportunity to take maximum advantage of the education opportunities offered at McDaniel.

Students should carefully review the list of courses available, consult with their parents and counselor as needed, and select 8 courses along with 2-3 alternate course choices that meet the educational goal.

Forecasting Timeline:

During the month of January we will be sharing information about the wonderful opportunities students have at McDaniel & helping them make course selections for next year! 

Jan. 7th: Grade level meetings in Theatre where student receive the forecast worksheet (grade specific)

• 1st period - 9th grade

• 5th period - 10th grade

• 6th period - 11th grade

Jan. 8th: During Flex: AP Fair

• Teachers tabling in the Commons to share more info. w/ students about courses. 

• Counselors available to answer student questions - Commons stage 

Jan. 14th: Core class (English) share next-level class options during class time  

• • Students will receive instructions & have time to enter Course Requests into StudentVUE during English class. 

  • Teachers post elective slides to Canvas

  • Give students work time to review elective slides & investigate choices

Jan. 26th:  Due date - students entering course codes/ course choices in Synergy
