Harm Reduction
Project RED is an overdose prevention and harm reduction program from the Alano Club of Portland dedicated to increasing the availability and accessibility of overdose prevention supplies, education and trainings. Project RED works across Oregon to distribute FREE naloxone, overdose prevention supplies, education and trainings to those facing barriers to access, including but not limited to mutual aid and community based organizations, businesses.
The Oregon Health Authority (OHA) works with partners to strengthen the continuum of care for substance use disorders. Harm reduction and syringe service program (SSP) interventions are part of that continuum. These interventions provide practical support to decrease negative consequences of drug use and celebrate any positive change. They are important parts of the public health response to outbreaks of overdose and infectious diseases.
Project Fireside offers a free, confidential psychedelic peer support line that provides non-clinical, emotional support during challenging psychedelic experiences. It is a harm reduction service, not a medical or mental health crisis line.
