Leader in Me® is used by thousands of schools in over 50 countries to help students build leadership habits, responsibility, communication, empathy, and decision-making through teacher-led lessons, classroom routines, and schoolwide practices.
At Park Village Elementary, Leader in Me® SEL lessons are provided by teachers in the classroom. The life skills taught in these lessons are reinforced by school staff on the playground, in morning announcements, and throughout the school day.
Leader in Me® is grounded in the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People and The 8th Habit: From Effectiveness to Greatness, the framework gives students opportunities to practice self-awareness, work well with others, set goals, and take ownership of their learning. It also helps schools create a common language for leadership so students hear consistent messages across classrooms and common areas. This approach supports students to grow as leaders, build strong character, and learn the habits that help them succeed in school and in life.
Leader in Me® is backed by a strong research base, and it helps schools create a positive learning environment where students feel valued, take ownership of their learning, and are prepared for future success. It’s one way we partner with families to help every child discover their strengths and use them well.
