There are two options for recording with Loom: Chrome Extension or Desktop App. The annotation and cursor highlight tool are not available on the Chrome Extension.
You have three options for recording.
Screen + Cam: show what is on your screen with your face to make it personal
Cam Only: record just your face
Screen Only: record your screen and audio only
You can choose to show your entire screen or just your current browser tab.
Flip camera - great if you have text behind you so you don't display a mirror image.
Control Menu - show or hide in your recording.
Recording Countdown (3,2,1...) -turn on or off before your recording starts.
Comments/Discussion Board. Choose if you'd like the comment field / discussion board to display below your video. Once toggled off, your students cannot reply directly onto the video page. Remember, a lesson on Digital Citizenship can help prepare students for this responsibility!
Animate thumbnail (gif). Choose for your video to display with an animated GIF preview.
Viewer can download. Choose if your video can be downloaded by your viewer. For student privacy, it is best to turn this feature off.
Emoji reactions. Choose to allow your viewer to add their real-time reactions while watching your video. Once disabled, this will hide all past emoji reactions.
Show video analytics. Choose if you'd like your viewer to see how many times the video has been viewed.
When you stop recording, a web page of your recording will automatically open. You can copy and paste the video link anywhere and anyone can click the link to watch it, sign-up is not required to view.
