The AVID team has provided some examples of how the AVID elective can fit into a student's 4-year plan with different pathways.
This example showcases a 4-year plan for students who want to be eligible for CSU/UC admissions with 3 trimesters of math during 9th and 10th grades.

This example is for students who would like to take AVID and follow the Career and Technical Education sequence for the PHS Agriculture Program. Students can explore different AP and honors courses that fit their interests.

Students in Dual Language/Spanish Intensive courses must consult with their language teacher for appropriate placement. This example includes AVID and Spanish Language Development during 9th grade and AP Spanish Language during 10th grade.
Heritage Learners who haven’t taken Intensive Spanish courses or students who took Dual Immersion Spanish in elementary school ONLY and NOT in middle school will start with Spanish 5-6 before Spanish Language Development 1-2.
