My name is Kodi Keller and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to teach your brilliant students this year in Language Arts. This is my fourth year teaching here at Twin Peaks and I cannot say enough positive things about the staff and students I get to work with every day.
Allow me to introduce myself - I was born and raised here in San Diego and lived here until I ventured into the desert for my undergraduate education at the University of Arizona. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in English and Comparative Literature with a Minor in History. After that, I missed the beach too much to stay away and returned to San Diego where I began working in the radio broadcast industry doing promotional and sales work for The Mighty 1090 AM and 105.7 MAX FM. While I enjoyed my time working in radio, I realized that my true passion was education and returned to school to obtain my teaching credential from California State University San Marcos. I love reading, going to live shows, and volunteering with organizations like Relay For Life, Ronald McDonald House Charities, and It’s the Pits Dog Rescue.
This year in class, I look forward to challenging your students to be the absolute best that they can be, while providing the support that they need to do so. We will be participating in a multitude of projects and activities to support all kinds of learners (and hopefully having some fun along the way)! Much of the work that we will be doing in Language Arts will be done on the Chrome Books we have on campus in an effort to increase digital literacy and student's ability to work proficiently with modern technology. As such, many class assignments may require home access to a computer. Please feel free to contact me directly if this will create an issue and we can work together to find a solution.
With that being said, I strongly believe that a key component in your child’s success is a healthy and direct line of communication between parents, teachers, and students. Details regarding classroom management policies can be found under the Syllabus tab. Throughout the year, I will be posting important class information on this website regularly. If there is anything that you wish to contact me about in order to better support your child please do not hesitate to email me at kokeller@powayusd.com. I look forward to getting to know you and your child better as the school year continues!
Sincerely,
Ms. Kodi Keller
