Hi Design 39 Community! My name is Jennifer Asmann and I am so excited to be returning for year 5 at D39!
I grew up in San Diego before moving to Los Angeles to complete my undergraduate degree in Psychology at Loyola Marymount University. Go Lions!
During my time in Los Angeles, I worked as an Infant Therapist specializing in Play Therapy for children with developmental delays and special needs ranging from 18 months to 6 years old. I also worked as a Behavior Interventionist using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). In my free time, I coached youth lacrosse teams at local recreation centers!
After my time in Los Angeles, I moved back to San Diego to pursue my dual graduate degrees in School Counseling and Clinical Mental Health. I graduated from the University of San Diego in January of 2021.
As a counselor, I strive to help students foster their unique strengths and provide a safe space for them to learn and grow. I truly believe in the power of connection and I am excited to continue to build connections with the Designers at this school and community as a whole.
Let's stay curious and be creative this year!

Coming Soon!
Hi everyone, my name is Andrea Guevara and this is my fourth year as a counselor at D39C!
I grew up in southern California before attending Arizona State University where I received by B.A. in psychology. While I was at ASU, I worked as a teacher's assistant at the preschool level focusing on early childhood development, education, and curriculum. After working with school-aged children, I realized I wanted to continue working in education. I moved to San Diego to pursue a Master's degree in school-based clinical counseling from the University of San Diego, where I graduated in May of 2022.
My approach as a counselor is to view students holistically and utilize their strengths and interests to help them realize their greatest potential. I feel so fortunate to be a counselor at such an amazing school and I can't wait to see what this school year has in store!
