Second Step® is one of the most widely used SEL programs in the United States. It has been used in PUSD for over 20 years! It is also used by schools in over 70 countries and is reaching 14 million students each year. 

At D39C, Second Step® is used in EVERY classroom and lessons are provided by counseling staff or your Designers' LED. 

Second Step® is a skills-focused SEL curriculum that emphasizes directly teaching students' skills that strengthen their ability to learn, have empathy, manage emotions, and solve problems. It is more than just a classroom curriculum. This program takes a holistic approach as a means to create a more empathetic society. This includes providing education professionals, families and and the community with the tools to be active participants in helping the social-emotional growth and safety of children today.
