"After completing Hannah’s course I felt prepared and excited for my birth. Contractions began on the Friday afternoon and she was born Sunday morning. During the beginning stages of labour, the tens machine was amazing, as well as positive affirmations, gentle touch massage and sitting on the ball. Unfortunately 15 hours in, we found out Billie was breech - she was not breech when my midwife checked that I was 8cms dilated, so she had done this after the fact while I was in labour. This caused a lot of swelling which put me back to roughly 3cms dilated and at this point they wanted to monitor Billie to ensure she was ok. I opted not to have a Caesarean unless Billie became distressed, so I was given an epidural to hopefully relieve some pain. Unfortunately due to her position it only gave a small amount of relief so I had to really try to put myself back into a calm and positive mindset. I kept telling myself to breath through the surges and each surge was one step closer to meeting my baby, even though I felt so far from it at the time. Labour for me was just as much a mental journey as it was physical. 15 hours later with 2.5 hours of pushing, Billie was safely delivered vaginally. Although my birth didn’t quite go how I thought it might, I still firmly believe what I learnt in Hannah’s classes helped me get through what was a total of 30 hours of pretty intense labour."

"Leo Thomas Lockwood born this morning. The midwife said I was the most calm person in labour for 20 hours (ending with c section) that they have ever seen. I can't imagine how terrible the day would have been. But instead it was a beautiful calm experience with a few hiccups. Can't thank you enough xx".

"After our first birth in 2020 ended up in an emergency C-Section I really wanted to go into our second birth as prepared as possible. After a 24 hour labour we unfortunately had to deliver via a repeat c-section. The Positive Birth Program was still incredibly beneficial, as I was able to use several of the techniques to get me through the first 18 hours with no pain relief other than the TENS machines which was also a god-send, hired through Positive Birth Space. Even in theatre I was able to use teachings from the course to enable us to enjoy the experience and joyfully welcome our baby into the world. Thank you Hannah!"

Little Leo arrived five weeks earlier than expected (just two days after his parents finished their face-to-face Positive Birth Program classes). This meant his parents didn't quite finish preparing their birth preferences but said "thanks to your course I personally felt in control the whole time". How incredible.

"On our due date labour began in the early hours of the morning. Throughout the day my surges were irregular but strengthening. I was able to stay at home and use my hypnobirth techniques to manage them. The TENS machine was absolute magic! Birth was still not imminent at the 30 hour mark, so we chose to head to the hospital and have an epidural and syntocinon drip to strengthen the surges, relax my pelvic floor and enable our baby to turn into the perfect position. 3 hours later I entered second stage and had a vaginal birth our beautiful baby Rayne William. I felt empowered the full way through the birth and in control of my mind!"
- Charmaine and Nick
Eleanor was born weighing 7lb, 05oz via spontaneous labour, completely drug free and the birth Charmaine dreamed of. They also had a physiological third stage. Charmaine said "I recommend the comb, TENS machine and those meditations put me in the most relaxed state to use the power of my own breath to help me cope. Plus Nick with his touch and encouragement".
