Aim as high as the mountains - Bi ag amas co àrd ris na beinn 

Broadford Primary School - Bun sgoil an àth Leathainn is situated in the village of Broadford  on the Isle of Skye. We are in the shadows of Beinn na Caillich and there are incredible views out to the sea looking north. We have three English Medium classes and two Gaelic Medium classes with a total number on roll just over 100 pupils.  In addition we have both Gaelic Medium Sgoil àraich and English Medium Nursery.

We are excited to be embarking upon a project to design and build a new school and community hub building to serve our learners and the wider community of South Skye. The project is to be delivered by summer 2025. 

Broadford Primary School serves a wide and diverse community of learners. As well as many children living within Broadford we have a number of children transported in from across South Skye serving the townships of Kylerhea, Breakish, Heaste, Torrin, and Luib to name a few. 

At Broadford Primary we try to ensure that all children achieve their potential in every area of a wide curriculum and leave the school with those skills which will enable them to confidently undertake secondary education and life beyond. We also try to ensure that each child attains, to the best of his/her ability, the objectives set out for each area of the curriculum. Through a now fully embedded Curriculum for Excellence, we aim to encourage successful learners, effective contributors, confident individuals and responsible citizens. 

Our school motto 'Aim as high as the mountains' reflects both the aspiration we want to instil in our learners and also the beauty of our surroundings.
