BookFlix is an exciting online literacy resource that pairs interactive, fictional video storybooks with related nonfiction eBooks. BookFlix engages young students, reinforces reading skills, and introduces early readers to a world of knowledge and exploration. After reading the fiction and nonfiction pair, young learners can test their new knowledge with the Puzzlers, which help build critical comprehension, vocabulary, and other important early literacy skills. In addition, there are more than 1,100 curated websites that offer opportunities for further exploration and additional reading practice! (Recommended for ages 3-9)

It introduces elementary school students to database searching with easy-to-use resources featuring age-appropriate, curriculum-related content. It gives children a safe place to find answers to their questions, practice research skills, and explore interests inside and outside the classroom. It also gives teachers access to digital resources that can supplement and enhance instruction.

News-O-Matic - Reading about current events comes to life with this online newspaper for kids, with different reading levels available for different grade levels! Its catchy article titles, high interest articles, and colorful photos make students want to stay up-to-date and become better global citizens.
Findit! is a site that allows Daly students and staff to access select databases through Novel NY. NOVELNY is an online library of hundreds of magazines, newspapers, maps, charts, research and reference books. Findit is also another way to access the subscriptions purchased by the district through The Nassau BOCES School Library System.

Thanks to the Ed Foundation, all 5 elementary schools received a grant to access this wonderful program. Book Break is a virtual Author Visit Program, where students can "meet" well-known authors and illustrators through live or prerecorded videos! Elementary teachers across all five of our elementary schools can access this program using their district email (and a password that they initially set up). Teachers who need help should contact their school library media specialist.
