Mission:
To ensure a challenging, relevant, and joyful education that prepares all students for the transition to middle school and empowers all students to be caring members of their community. The school counseling program builds relationships between students, families, and educators to promote the healthy personal, academic, and career development of all students.
Core Beliefs:
All students and staff must feel safe to learn and work effectively
All students are welcome and expected
All students can meet high expectations, if those expectations are explicitly taught
All students have strengths and interests
All students have many options for post-secondary education
Social and emotional skills can be taught and are as important to student success as other academic skills
Knowledge, skills, and attitudes toward work and learning begin developing in elementary school
School counselors are advocates and should use data to advocate for students and our own work
School counselors are leaders in the school building
