Mindfulness and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) - The best learning takes place when students have supportive relationships which then make learning challenging, engaging and meaningful.
I've been taking different mindfulness professional development workshops and post graduate courses about creating an environment that fosters positive relationships. These relationships are between students and their peers and students and their teachers.
According to mindful.org, "mindfulness is the basic human ability to be fully present and not overreact by what's going on around us."
According to webteaching.com, "social emotional Learning (SEL) is a process for essential life skills such as decision making, problem solving, effective communication, empathy, perseverance and coping."
