Being organized is one of many keys to success in 6th grade. The beginning of the year will be a time for making adjustments and figuring out what works best for you. Not everyone has the same system. Organized students tend to do better in school! Here are some tips to set you up for success in 6th grade:
- Bring your homework agenda to every class.
- Use your homework agenda daily to record assignments.
- Your binders should be sturdy. Sturdy binders will be able to handle the wear and tear throughout the year.
- Have a place for everything at school and at home. Some students like to carry ALL subjects in a hefty binder so nothing is left behind.
- Have backup supplies such as writing instruments and paper in your locker and at home.
- Create a strong homework system. Check your agenda at the end of the day to ensure all proper materials go home.
- Manage your time. Know due dates for different assignments. Break them up so it's manageable. Make a plan that includes the amount of time needed for different subjects. Take breaks!
- Pack the night before to ensure you're ready for the next day!
