Dear LCE Families,
Thank you for a wonderful first week back! It was so nice to see all the smiles and excitement as students arrived each day. We will continue working on routines and procedures as everyone settles back into the rhythm of school.
When we return from the Labor Day break, we will begin our benchmark screeners. These assessments are given to all students three times a year and help us understand each child’s current skill levels, while also identifying areas where they may benefit from additional support or enrichment. The results guide us in building plans to best support every student. More information about your child’s results will be shared with you in the coming weeks.
As a reminder, we will not have school on Friday, 8/29 and Monday, 9/1. We hope you have a wonderful weekend.
We are looking forward to a great year ahead!

Orville is excited to be back to school and working! He had a busy summer so we will take the next few weeks for him to adjust being back to work. An important reminder we are working on with students and staff is that when Orville is out walking on the leash, he should not be pet. We have scheduled time for him to have direct contact with students with trained staff members. If you see Orville in the building or outside, please feel free to give him a wave but avoid touching him. Thank you for your help in ensuring we keep Orville trained to help support students!
