Econ Daily PowerPoints

Follow this link to the Econ Daily PowerPoints that I put up each day for students to read the days essential standard, Performance & Success criteria, what is turned in, what we are doing each day (including the WARM-UP QUESTIONS that students must answer in their notebooks, any hand-outs/assignments to be cut/glued/taped into their notebooks, group work to be completed, and what will be stamped for a grade on their unit notebook checks), and what reminders I put up. These are updated twice a week.

These PowerPoints are a "directory" of what we do each day to direct students, parents/guardians, important adults, to what needs to be done for each unit. I also HIGHLY recommend using Skyward for due dates. I also use Google Classroom. If parents/guardians would like access to that, please email me (adixon@portageps.org) and I will add you to those specific assignments. You may also login to Google Classroom as your student to view it (you can ask your student for their school computer login or find it on Skyward on PORTFOLIO).

Each unit has copies of the handouts, teacher notes, and some readings for each of our units. Students can also find some extra copies in class. If a student is absent, check with your buddy, in the Econ Bin, and with Dixon for absent work. Please check TEACHTCI.COM for readings & work also.

REQUIRED MATERIALS FOR ECONOMICS

1. Composition notebook - black, red, green, blue, whatever, but the good not the sparkly kind. This will be mostly left in class to be used for daily interactive class work, notes, group work, and graded. I do have some extras students can buy from me (money goes towards class auction items). This notebook will require cutting with scissors and gluing. I have scissors and glue in class but you will need to share. But I do not have enough tape for everyone if you do not like glue. So you may want your own of these extra supplies.

2. 1-inch binder or folder for papers that will not go into the notebook

3. Textbooks - Economics Principles in Action & Econ Alive! Textbooks will not be assigned (they are in the class desks) but MAY BE signed out after school or for the semester upon request. Online access is also available below (PDF's of Econ Alive! and non-smartphone computer access to Economics Principles in Action).

Economics Units

Within each of these links you will find the handouts to glue into your composition notebook and the teacher's notes. Each unit will include the unit notebook check collected after the unit test (unit 1 was part of the 70% category as it was part of our organization and creation, but the rest will vary depending on how much is in them).

Click on each link below, then the unit attachments (assignments, teacher notes, hand-outs, learning targets, etc) will be found, scroll in each link along right side.

Some assignments, however, will only be on our Google Classroom, so be sure to check there and on Skyward for due dates and any missing work. You may also see and/or email Mrs. Dixon with any questions.

Economics Textbooks

These books will not be checked out for the entire semester but students may check it out from Mrs. Dixon each day as they need to at the end of seventh hour and return it in the next morning before first hour. We will not use it each day thus students will not need it each day. If students and/or their parents are more comfortable having a book at home, however, students may check the book out for the semester. Simply see me and I can check the needed book out.

We will predominantly be using the Econ Alive! textbook which you can find PDF's of below AND IT IS AVAILABLE ONLINE ON THE TCI APP (access through Google apps on your email)
