Advertising Project

Step #1:

You will be creating an advertising campaign for one of the scenarios below. You will first plan out your product, and then develop an advertising campaign. You must consider the demographic you are targeting and what persuasive techniques you will use in your campaign. See examples for inspiration.

Advertising Project Options

(choose 1 option)

Design a completely new product. You will have to think about how it works, what it will look like, and what purpose it serves.

Create a new advertising campaign for an existing product. Think outside the box of a better way to sell it.

Take an already existing product and come up with a new use for it (ex: using a shoe as a drink holder). Think outside the box.

Step #2:

Next, you will complete the planning form. This will help to plan out your advertising strategies that you will use in your ads.

Here's a reminder of the "additional strategies:"

Other Persuasive Strategies

Here's a reminder of P/L/E:

  • Pathos-emotions
  • Logos-facts/statistics, comparisons
  • Ethos-trustworthy/celebrity endorsements

Step #3:

Next, you will work on an advertising campaign for your product. You will choose one of two options: print ads OR video. In your ad(s), you will need to utilize advertising strategies and demographics.

Print:

You will create 2 advertisements using Canva or Adobe Spark. Each of the advertisements will be marketing the same product but using different strategies.

Video:

You will create 1 commercial that is 30-60 seconds long using Adobe Spark, Powtoon, or another option discussed with me. If you just want to record a video and upload it, that's fine too.

Bonus Help:

  • Remove.bg: remove the background of an image so you can layer/photoshop it

REMEMBER THAT WHEN I LOOK AT YOUR AD(s), I SHOULD BE ABLE TO SEE THAT YOU CHOOSE 1 CATEGORY OF PERSUASION (pathos, logos, ethos) AND 1 ADDITIONAL STRATEGY. I SHOULD ALSO BE ABLE TO RECOGNIZE YOUR TARGET DEMOGRAPHIC.

Step #4:

Turn in your completed work(s) to the post on Google Classroom.
