Welcome!
Hi there! I’m so happy you’re here, and I’m even more excited to be your child’s third grade teacher this year. Teaching truly fills my heart, and I feel so lucky to be part of the Pope John Paul II school family. This is my second year teaching third grade here at PJP, and I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else. It’s such a joy to spend my days with this age group, watching them grow, learn, and become more confident in who they are.
I graduated from Immaculata University with a degree in Elementary Education and Psychology, and later earned my Master’s in Early Childhood Education from Albright College. I’ve been part of the PJP community for eight years now. I started in the Little Saints Infant Room, then spent five wonderful years teaching Pre-K 4, and now I’ve found my home in third grade. Every step of the way has shaped me into the teacher I am today, and I am so grateful for it.
A Little About Me
Outside of school, my world revolves around my family. My husband and I have a son, Liam, who just started ninth grade at Bishop Shanahan High School. I honestly can’t believe how fast he is growing up. It feels like just yesterday I was packing his little backpack for kindergarten, and now I’m watching him navigate high school with such independence. Time truly flies, and it reminds me to soak in every little moment.
Recently, I became an aunt to my sister’s two sweet boys, Grayson and Hudson. Yes, their names rhyme, and no, it wasn’t planned haha. Becoming an aunt has been such a gift. It has been so special to experience the baby stage all over again, especially now that my own baby is a teenager. Watching my nephews grow has filled my heart in a whole new way and reminded me how precious every stage of childhood really is.
My family loves being outside together. We take walks with our lovable Lab mix, Shamus, or sit around the fire pit looking up at the stars. One night, we counted 19 satellites and 10 shooting stars. Those quiet, simple moments are some of my favorites. We are also lucky to live right next door to my parents. Our backyards connect, and so do our lives. Most evenings, we are all outside together while the dogs run around, Liam tosses the football, and we just enjoy each other’s company. It means the world to me.
Our Classroom
In our classroom, I want your child to feel safe, happy, and excited to learn. Even more than that, I want them to feel loved by me as their teacher. I work hard to create an environment where every student knows they belong and where kindness, respect, and compassion are part of everything we do. I want our classroom to feel like a second home, where students are free to be themselves, ask questions, make mistakes, and grow.
We will spend our days learning together, encouraging one another, and celebrating each step forward. I use a mix of whole group lessons, small group work, and hands-on activities to keep learning meaningful and fun. I also weave in social-emotional learning each day because understanding feelings, friendships, and how we treat others is just as important as academic growth.
This classroom is filled with love, laughter, curiosity, and care. I want each child to leave third grade knowing they are smart, important, and capable, but most of all, knowing they were truly seen and loved by their teacher.
It is going to be a beautiful year, and I am so grateful to be a part of your child’s journey. Please know I am always here for you and your family.
