Mission: The mission of the APhA Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) is to be the collective voice of student pharmacists, to provide opportunities for professional growth, to improve patient care, and to envision and advance the future of pharmacy.
APhA is the first and largest professional association of pharmacists in the United States. Specifically, APhA Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) is the student section of APhA, representing over 22,000 pharmacy students at all schools in the United States and Puerto Rico. Pharmacy students, pre-pharmacy students, and post-BS PharmD students enrolled at an ACPE accredited pharmacy school or college are eligible for membership in APhA-ASP.
APhA at large is the voice of the profession. It is the only professional organization that has members in all fields of pharmacy practice, including pharmacists, technicians, and interns. APhA represents pharmacists from diverse fields including pharmacists working in hospitals, community, industry, academia, management, and pharmacists in various specialized fields.
Immunization Clinics, Body Fat Analysis, Women’s Health, Geriatric Care, Hypertension Screenings, Blood Glucose Checks, Healthy Living/Alternative Medicine, Poison Prevention Seminars, Drug Take Back Days, Antimicrobial Stewardship and so much more!
Through APhA-ASP you can participate in patient care projects. BSPA has 6 patient care committees that allow student pharmacists to plan events that provide care and education to the public.
We truly believe #pharmacistsprovidecare which is why we not only advocate for our patients, but also advocate for our profession. Through APhA-ASP, student pharmacists have the opportunity to speak with legislators about provider status and educate others on the impact pharmacists can have in their community!
