It's time for the annual APhA Back the PAC fundraiser! This year our chapter's goal is to raise $350 to contribute to APhA's PAC (Political Action Committee. PAC is used to support candidates for federal office who have demonstrated support for pharmacy issues and recognize the value of pharmacists in the health care system. We will be holding two raffles for students who donate. Here's how it works- You can donate $$$ in 3 different ways: texting the number above and designating Belmont as the affiliated chapter (make sure you take a screenshot for credit), go directly to www.pharmacist.com/APhA-PAC and designating Belmont as the chapter affiliated with the donation (still take a screenshot for credit), or donate to BSPA's Venmo account @bucopbspa with the note "PAC" (no screenshot required). No specific donation amount is required, but every dollar = 1 raffle entry. At the end of March, we will be closing donations and raffling off (1) BSPA membership for the 2021-2022 year and (1) registration for APhA Annual 2022. If you have any questions, please reach out to Victoria Burnette at victoria.burnette@pop.belmont.edu. Please email all screenshots to Victoria.
This semester, Belmont will be participating in APhA's Policy Postcard campaign. These are postcards that we will be sending to our local and national representatives to showcase the value pharmacists bring to healthcare providers. How it works: starting 2/5, postcards will be available to pick up outside of Dr. Poole's office (MWH 3xx), take them to work or anywhere you will be providing patient care this semester. After helping a patient, ask them to quickly fill out the postcard detailing how you helped them. Once you have 5 filled out, return them to Victoria Burnette or any exec member and you will receive one "other" credit. If you have any questions, please reach out to Victoria Burnette at victoria.burnette@pop.belmont.edu.
