Molecular Engineering & Catalysis Laboratory
Welcome To DSS Lab
Molecular Engineering & Catalysis Laboratory
Our research group is actively involved in the field of “Organic Synthesis” with special attention on the development of new synthetic strategies for the stereoselective synthesis of various classes of biologically relevant heterocyclic compounds, applied organic materials, value-added feed stock commodities, and solar fuels via new carbon-carbon and carbon-hetero atom bond forming reactions in an environmentally benign manner.
The diverse chemical processes occurring in nature have always intrigued us moreover, the societal demand for environmentally friendly processes have motivated to focus mainly on the development of bioinspired materials and sustainable chemical technologies like phototcatalysis, electrocatalysis for energy applications and sustainable development. Current research interests also focus on Functional Organic materials for flexible, cost-effective solar cells, Organic luminophores for OLED and sensor applications. Sustainable carbon-based materials for energy storage, catalysis, and environmental applications. CO2 utilization and biomass valorization via advanced catalysis, using metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs) enables transforming CO2 and biomass to fuels and valuable added chemicals.
By integrating these advanced materials and technologies, we drive innovation toward a cleaner and more sustainable future. Through interdisciplinary research and cutting-edge material design, we contribute to energy efficiency, carbon neutrality, and global sustainability.
The Two-Day National Conference on Green Energy Technologies for Sustainability was successfully inaugurated in a grand manner by our esteemed Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor Prof. P. Prakash Babu, Dr. N Sivasubramanian from ISRO and Prof. Ravi Kumar Asthana, BHU Varanasi, UP.
Dr. D. S. Sharada was invited to deliver a talk at NOST-2025, held from March 3–6 in Agra.
We welcome E. Pramila, a new Ph.D student, to join the Doctoral program in our research group.
Congratulations to Nagaraju for joining the internship program at InCENSE, Centre for Nano Science and Engineering (CeNSE), Indian Institute of Science(IISc), Bengaluru, Karnataka, India.
