Participate in bi-weekly (2x per month) 30 minute in-school meetings between students and mentors. This will allow for trust and interpersonal growth to be established. When possible, students and mentors are partnered through career or personal interests and/or life experiences.
Empower students to consider the pursuit of individualized career paths, and further foster their pursuit of hobbies/fields of interest.
Create a trusted environment where students can know someone is there to listen.
Seek to make every person feel valued and respected through community engagement and connectivity.

What Will Mentorship Meetings Look Like?
Students and trained mentors will meet 2x a month for 30 minutes during school. Every school has dedicated spaces for meetings to take place. Meetings happen at Polk County High School, Middle School, and Early College.
Every meeting will include discussion of a monthly leadership trait, which can include communication skills, advocating skills, and character development. Additionally, we “check in” with students to chat about life, school, etc.

Mentorship Selection
Mentors are thoughtfully selected for their engaging, inspirational, and motivational qualities. We often pair mentors and students based on shared interests or background experiences.
Before being placed with a student, every mentor will have a background check and receive in-person training, program resources, and ongoing continuing education to help facilitate an informed mentorship experience.
