Service & Emotional Support Animal (ESA) Information
Are looking to request to bring your Emotional Support Animal (ESA) to PAFA housing?
If so, check out this handy document, Information for Requesting an Emotional Support Animal (ESA), which will guide you through the accommodation steps you need to take in this process. This includes obtaining documentation from your current medical provider about your disability.
IMPORTANT! READ BELOW!
GIVE YOURSELF AN ABUNDANCE OF TIME TO REQUEST AN ESA. While your accommodations paperwork with PAFA may be completed relatively quickly, the ESA process is not yet complete. PAFA houses students in a Drexel University student housing building, and therefore the PAFA student must ultimately be cleared for an ESA THROUGH DREXEL'S DISABILITY SERVICES.
Anticipate that you (student) will have a scheduled phone or Zoom conversation with Drexel's Disability Office and be required to complete other paperwork through Drexel. Plan for Drexel's ESA Clearance Process (interview & additional paperwork) to take anywhere from 2-4 weeks in addition to the time you do paperwork with PAFA.
PAFA's Student Care Coordinator is the point person for coordinating with Drexel's Disability office. Reach out to get more details around Drexel's policy: healthandwellness@pafa.edu
Have questions about Drexel's Process? Contact policy@drexel.edu to inquire about their Service and Assistance Animal Policy.
