President, Palawan State University
On behalf of the Palawan State University community, I am pleased to extend my warmest greetings and wholehearted support to the organizers, keynote speakers, presenters, delegates, partners, and participants of the 3rd GCC International Research Conference on Global Citizenship Education (IRCon GCED) 2026.
It is with great pride that Palawan State University serves as the host of this distinguished international gathering in partnership with the Global Citizenship Education Cooperation Centre–Philippines, and the Philippine Normal University. We eagerly look forward to welcoming educators, researchers, policymakers, students, and development practitioners from the Philippines and around the world to this meaningful exchange of ideas, experiences, and innovations.
Anchored on the theme, "Academe as a Global Actor for Peace and Global Citizenship Education: Transformative Pathways for International Understanding through ESD and GCED," this conference reflects the growing responsibility of higher education institutions to shape individuals who are not only academically competent but also socially responsible, globally minded, and deeply committed to peace, sustainability, and human dignity. As the world continues to face increasingly complex and interconnected challenges, education remains one of our most powerful instruments for building understanding, fostering dialogue, and inspiring collective action.
We envision this conference as more than an academic event. It is an opportunity to cultivate meaningful partnerships, strengthen international collaboration, and inspire innovative research and practices that advance the principles of Global Citizenship Education and Education for Sustainable Development. We hope that every conversation, presentation, and collaboration will contribute to a shared vision of a more inclusive, compassionate, and sustainable future.
As the designated Regional Hub for Global Citizenship Education in the MIMAROPA Region, Palawan State University remains steadfast in its commitment to promoting internationalization, intercultural understanding, and quality education that responds to both local realities and global aspirations. Through this conference, we reaffirm our belief that universities have a vital role in preparing future generations to become ethical leaders, active global citizens, and agents of positive change.
I extend my sincere appreciation to the organizing committee, our partner institutions, collaborating organizations, sponsors, and all those working behind the scenes to make this conference possible. Your dedication and shared vision exemplify the spirit of cooperation that Global Citizenship Education seeks to nurture.
To all who will be joining us, we look forward to welcoming you to Palawan—where learning, collaboration, culture, and hospitality come together. May the 3rd IRCon GCED 2026 become a meaningful milestone that inspires enduring partnerships, transformative ideas, and renewed commitment to education as a powerful force for peace and sustainable development.
We eagerly anticipate your participation and wish everyone a fruitful and enriching conference experience.
