COMMUNICATE
1. Please make use of assigned chapter resources - Chapter email, Google Drive, Star Chapter access, etc.
2. If a volunteer is not an active email user for more than a month, the account may be revoked by IT after review with the volunteer’s leader.
3. All volunteers are expected to communicate with their leader once a week (via email / text / call).
COMMITMENT
1. All volunteers are expected to spend at least 1 hour per week and directors/VPs are expected to spend at least 2 hours/week. If you foresee any challenge with this please inform your leader.
2. Please work on succession planning and knowledge transfer when you foresee challenges with your volunteering bandwidth to ensure smooth functioning of the chapter.
COLLABORATE
1. Volunteering is FUN when everyone is engaged. So please attend Monthly Ops meeting regularly. If you can not make it due to unforeseen reasons, please inform your leader and meeting organizer.
2. Please plan on attending monthly events, appreciation and team events, to create an active, fun and engaging atmosphere.
THANK YOU!
Make sure you report your hours each month. The Engagement Manager will send out a Google Form for you to fill in your hours.
Each month, all Active Volunteers are invited to attend the Operations Team Meeting, which is conducted on the web. An Active Volunteer is someone who has a defined role within the Operation Team.
Team Leaders will give reports, new volunteers are introduced, ideas discussed, and questions are asked and answered.
If you cannot attend due to classes or other circumstances, a recording of the meeting is distributed.
2019 Volunteer Manager Kavena Ramsoobhag (pictured at right) had an idea: let's have mixers for the volunteers! The mixers are a way to honor and reward volunteer efforts, to meet peers, and to build camaraderie .
Ashwani Sinha (at left) came on board as Engagement Manager, and thought, "Why not let each volunteer bring a guest?"
2019 Marketing Director Lorena de Benedittis brought her Mom ...
Kavena brought her husband, Val.
The next Volunteer Mixer coincided with the festival of Diwali, so this happened ...
2019 Outreach VP Anju Makhija opened her home to all volunteers and Board members wanting to attend. Beautiful costumes were provided for all! 2019 Social Media Manager Shruti Jogi got a friend who is a Bollywood dance instructor to come and teach us some moves. Kavena and Ashwani, together with 2019 Events Manager Cuneyt Oskal, made sure everyone had enough to eat and drink.
