This is an exciting and important time in a student’s school career. The choices they make can impact upon what they go on to study after GCSE, fulfilling the current Government requirement to remain in education or training until the end of the year of their 18th birthday.
The choices they make should be supported and informed ones, choices that are made with all of the information and advice available.
This portal is just one source of information – our Parents’ Evening, Curriculum Choices Evening and Subject Information should also combine to provide lots of useful information and advice.
In addition to reading the wealth of information, students should consult their teachers so that they can consider all available information prior to making decisions about the courses they select from the options available.
The Curriculum Choices Evening which follows our Parents’ Evening presents an opportunity to consider curriculum choices and we encourage parents to use this opportunity to gather information to support their child in making this decision, building on conversations during the Parents’ Evening. Students are encouraged to keep as open a mind as possible in case first choice courses are not available.
If you were unable to make our Curriculum Choices evening, please watch our narrated presentation from the evening.
