PHSN Marching Band & Color Guard - The "Marching Panthers"

The Marching Panthers are comprised of all band students enrolled in the high school band program and Color Guard. This ensemble performs at PHSN football games, local festivals and band shows, and both national and community parades and events. The goal of this ensemble is to expose students to music and movement as a holistic approach to excellence in the arts.

PHSN Symphonic Band

The PHSN Symphonic Band is the premier concert ensemble, comprised of the most advanced wind and percussion musicians, within the PHSN Band Program. This ensemble consistently performs grade 5+ level literature, and consistently earns "Superior" ratings in Class AA, the most advanced level of difficulty, at OMEA Large Group Adjudicated Events. This ensemble has been hailed for its exceptionally musical performances, and maintains high standards of technical, musical, and personal excellence from its members. Most students in this ensemble study privately on their instrument outside of the band program, and earn membership in the ensemble by audition. This ensemble has performed at OMEA Professional Development Conferences, the Capital University Band Festival with guest John Mackey, and frequent fields OMEA All-State musicians, including two NAfME All-National Ensemble musicians.

PHSN Concert Band I

The PHSN Concert Band I is the the second concert ensemble, comprised of wind and percussion musicians of all classes, within the PHSN Band Program. This ensemble performs grade 3-4.5 level literature, and consistently earns "Superior" ratings in Class B at OMEA Large Group Adjudicated Events. This ensemble holds students to high standards of musical, technical, and personal excellence, aiming to grow exceptional musicians and citizens. Many students in this ensemble study privately on their instrument outside of the band program, and earn membership in the ensemble by audition.

PHSN Concert Band II

The PHSN Concert Band II is the the third concert ensemble (when instrumentation permits), comprised of wind and percussion musicians of all classes, within the PHSN Band Program. This ensemble performs grade 2.5-3.5 level literature, and consistently earns "Superior" ratings in Class C at OMEA Large Group Adjudicated Events. This ensemble holds students to high standards of musical, technical, and personal excellence, aiming to grow exceptional musicians and citizens. Students in this ensemble are encouraged to study privately on their instrument outside of the band program, and earn membership in the ensemble by audition.

PHSN Jazz Ensemble

The PHSN Jazz Ensemble is the the premier jazz ensemble, comprised of wind and percussion musicians of all classes, within the PHSN Band Program. This ensemble performs standards of the big band literature, as well as popular and seasonal selections. This ensemble aims to expose students to the true American music form of jazz, and holds students to high standards of musical, technical, and personal excellence, growing exceptional musicians and citizens. This ensemble often performs at many outreach events within the Pickerington Local Schools. Many students in this ensemble study privately on their instrument outside of the band program, and earn membership in the ensemble by audition.
