To ensure your AP Exam is ordered by the order deadline of November 1 please follow the steps below, let your AP teacher or Ms. Hoffman know if you have any issues. Exams will automatically be ordered when you join your AP classroom with the code provided by your AP teacher.
Step 1: Create your College Board Account
For students new to taking AP courses, they will need to create a College Board account. If an AP course has been completed previously, please use the existing College Board Account. The act of creating this account and using the classroom join codes is how a student orders the exam so it is important that this is done promptly to avoid any issues.
Step 2: Join the AP Classroom for each of your AP Courses
Step 3: Opt into or out of each of the AP exams you want to take
Exam Fees 2026: These fees change annually and are set by the College Board
The cost for an AP Exam for the 2025-2026 school year will be $99 per exam. Please keep in mind that some courses have two exams associated with the course (i.e. AP Micro/Macro Economics
There will be a reduced fee for these exams around $54 for those that qualify for the free/reduced lunch program. The State of Ohio has yet to commit to a 100% fee waiver as they have done the past several years. Ms. Hoffman will update this site if/when they confirm the waiver. To qualify for this AP Fee Reduction, students must have qualified for free/reduced lunch. If a student is unsure if they qualify, please contact Food Services at 614-833-3645. Important Note: While PLSD current has a grant that provides free lunch to all students, if you believe you would qualify for a reduced or free AP exam, your guardian will need to go to THIS LINK and click on "Apply for Benefits." Please do this as soon as possible so we can be sure your AP exam fees or fee waiver is applied to your account.
The $99 fee (per exam) will be added to the student fees later in the year, with payment typically due in mid-April.
