Light Up LeClaire" Volunteer Opportunities!

Saturday 12/6- Volunteers will tie caution tape across each intersection along the parade route. Volunteers will need to stay throughout the parade, and tear down tape directly after the parade is done. Volunteers will be in prime position to watch the parade go by. We will meet at the Fire Department parking lot at 4:30 PM."

Winter Lights: Quad City Botanical Center has a variety of volunteer opportunities!

Hot Cocoa Stand: We are looking for volunteers to help run our hot cocoa stand. Tasks include, but not limited to greeting guests, helping fulfil orders, restocking, and cleaning up tables. Activity Corner: Something a little bit different this year, we are looking for volunteers to help out in our activity corner. Sharing space with the hot cocoa stand, tasks include, but not limited to restocking scratchers and coloring pages and other supplies, clean up tables, greeting guests, and help answer questions. Lights & Leashes: Every Sunday! Lights & Leashes is an event where guests can bring their dogs to the gardens. We are looking for volunteers to help be photographers and capture memorable smiles and wagging tails! Tasks include, but not limited to offering guests to take their photo with their fur baby, greet guests, and help with way finding. This year will be our 3rd year of continuing Lights & Leashes, don't miss out on all the fun! Krampus: Back by popular demand, Krampus is coming back to the botanical center! And we need volunteers to be his helpers. Tasks include, but not limited to taking photos of guests with Krampus, assist with crowd control, and help with the featured Krampus craft. Santa! You better watch out, you better not cry, you better not pout and I'm telling you why... Santa Claus is coming to the botanical center! And we need volunteer to be his helpers! Tasks include, but not limited to greeting guests, help with crowd control, assist with line reservations, and help answer questions. Fire Pit with S’Mores: We are looking for volunteers to invite guests to warm up by the fire and help set up s’more kits. Of course, this position will take place outside so do bundle up! UnityPoint Health-Trinity

UnityPoint Health-Trinity has many areas that need volunteers, including in our: lobbies, gift shops, floral department, surgical waiting, as a runner throughout the hospital, on the units, and at fundraising events. (The link takes you to the Rock Island site, but we have positions at all 3 locations, and the application link works for all locations.) Since we have 3 QC campuses, we have a lot of shifts to fill, so if anyone can cover one hospital or multiple, that would be TERRIFIC!! Please be sure to specify areas of interest, as well as preferred campus(es), so our team can help find a position that works best for you. We have two different programs that you could apply for. The standard program asks for a commitment of 30 hours over the course of 6 months; the accelerated summer program asks for a commitment of 80 hours from June-August (only). So, think about which program would work for you and apply! Our volunteers make a huge difference in the lives of the patients we serve, so sign up to volunteer to help those in need!

Teens for Tomorrow!

Teens for Tomorrow is a youth leadership and philanthropy initiative led by the Quad Cities Community Foundation. As members of this program, high schoolers from across the Quad Cities learn about the challenges our community faces and get to be an active part of the solution by getting to know community organizations, fundraising, and awarding more than $10,000 in grants to support the causes they care about. In fact, this year, they raised an additional $27,500 through individual donor meetings that they awarded through their competitive grant process.

Each year, we invite high school students from across Scott and Rock Island Counties to join this program by submitting an interest form (linked below).

Impact Life

The Donor Programs and Communications Department at ImpactLife Blood Center in Davenport is offering exciting volunteer opportunities for students looking to give back to the community while fulfilling service-learning requirements. We are looking for reliable, detail-oriented individuals who are great communicators, highly organized, and have a strong work ethic.

As a volunteer, you will assist with a variety of tasks, including:

Completing mailing projects
Inventory and organization projects
Assisting with general office duties

This is a fantastic opportunity to build valuable skills, learn more about the blood donation process, and make a real difference in saving lives. Opportunities are available Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. Volunteers may also work during school breaks, such as Spring Break or Summer. Weekends- 9-11 or 1:30-4

They are currently seeking volunteers, particularly on weekends, to assist with resident activities and provide companionship through socializing. Please note that no hands-on care would be required. In addition, we may have other volunteer opportunities available on our campus, such as helping with cleanup efforts or assisting with meal delivery.

Bettendorf Parks and Recreation is always looking for reliable student volunteers ages 16 and up for their recreation programs and special events. Events typically take place indoors during the winter, outdoors during the summer, on weeknights and weekends, and vary in their number of hours required. Habitat for Humanity

Welcome to Letters Against Depression. We are an organization that provides hope and support to those battling mental illness through the power of handwritten letters. We have over 5000 volunteers who have written over 30,000 letters that have personally impacted each one of our recipients lives. We have connected people from over 60 countries, being the voice of hope and support for every person of all ages.

Our Mission:

To send hope and support to those battling depression and other mental illnesses through our free handwritten letters. Our letters are packed with the affirming messages “You are not alone” and that “You matter”!

Reminders:

All paperwork should be turned in on a monthly basis. This will help us to better track your progress.
Seniors are required to have their service learning requirement complete by May 1st. Any seniors who do not have their Fr/So and Jr/Sr requirement complete by May 1st will not be allowed to attend Jr/Sr Prom or be allowed to graduate.
Sophomores are required to have half their service learning done by the end of first semester of sophomore year and the remainder of the requirements complete by the last day of school. Sophomores who do not complete the requirement will receive an "F" in service learning. Students with an "F" will be ineligible for extracurricular activities, parking and school dances.
