It’s a relaxed, social way to connect, have fun, and make a meaningful impact. Good to know: Big River offers snacks and drinks, but volunteers should bring their own money if they’d like to purchase anything from the snack bar. Tokens for the games will be provided. Come for the games, stay for the laughs, and leave knowing you helped make someone’s night a little brighter!

The Formal Dance is a chance to volunteer while helping Hand in Hand participants enjoy an elegant evening of music, dancing, and celebration. Your role? Make sure everyone feels welcome, confident, and ready to have a great time. Pizza will be provided; volunteers may eat after participants if there are leftovers.

Up With Families volunteer opportunity.
Saturday, March 28th, 2026.
8am-12pm, OR 2pm-7pm, OR apply for BOTH!
Up With Families is a volunteer-run organization that invites families with a young child with disabilities to come to a local hotel for a family weekend retreat. Volunteers are needed to serve as companions/caretakers for youth that will be attending. While the parents participate in programming to learn about community resources, the children are offered activities. The goal is to have two companion volunteers per one child. Youth companion volunteers help facilitate participation in the planned/scheduled youth activities, including art, t-shirt decorating, a magic show, music, parachute, toys/games, bowling, movie and swimming. Volunteers receive a t-shirt.
There is a morning shift, or an afternoon shift. Evening volunteers eat dinner with their child. Volunteers that select both shifts will be provided lunch. Up With Families is also in need of a few certified lifeguards to supervise scheduled swim times.

UnityPoint Health-Trinity
UnityPoint Health-Trinity has many areas that need volunteers, including in our: lobbies, gift shops, floral department, surgical waiting, as a runner throughout the hospital, on the units, and at fundraising events. (The link takes you to the Rock Island site, but we have positions at all 3 locations, and the application link works for all locations.) Since we have 3 QC campuses, we have a lot of shifts to fill, so if anyone can cover one hospital or multiple, that would be TERRIFIC!! Teens for Tomorrow!
Teens for Tomorrow is a youth leadership and philanthropy initiative led by the Quad Cities Community Foundation. As members of this program, high schoolers from across the Quad Cities learn about the challenges our community faces and get to be an active part of the solution by getting to know community organizations, fundraising, and awarding more than $10,000 in grants to support the causes they care about. In fact, this year, they raised an additional $27,500 through individual donor meetings that they awarded through their competitive grant process.
Each year, we invite high school students from across Scott and Rock Island Counties to join this program by submitting an interest form (linked below).

The Donor Programs and Communications Department at ImpactLife Blood Center in Davenport is offering exciting volunteer opportunities for students looking to give back to the community while fulfilling service-learning requirements. All paperwork should be turned in on a monthly basis. This will help us to better track your progress.
Seniors are required to have their service learning requirement complete by May 1st. Any seniors who do not have their Fr/So and Jr/Sr requirement complete by May 1st will not be allowed to attend Jr/Sr Prom or be allowed to graduate.
Sophomores are required to have half their service learning done by the end of first semester of sophomore year and the remainder of the requirements complete by the last day of school. Sophomores who do not complete the requirement will receive an "F" in service learning. Students with an "F" will be ineligible for extracurricular activities, parking and school dances.
