Unity Day is a day for everyone to {UNITE} take a stand against bullying through kindness, acceptance, and inclusion. Everyone is encouraged to wear and share ORANGE on Wednesday to show unity.
Unity Day was created by the PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center and is a key event of National Bullying Prevention Month. The vibrant statement of wearing orange becomes a way to show support and start conversations for students who have been bullied and for bullying prevention.
Alisal students signed a schoolwide Unity Banner pledging to speak up with kindness, reach out with acceptance, and be a friend through inclusion. Students also had an opportunity to write and draw kind messages along the blacktop area.
Teachers also signed up for various lessons about kindness, inclusion and acceptance during the week of Unity Day. See the pictures below of our Unity Day Celebration!
