Kindergarten Drop Off & Pick Up

All parents and guardians will be asked to stay on the perimeter of campus and will not be permitted past the gates. We highly encourage walking/biking to school as traffic can be heavy and parking is extremely limited. Parking is available on the residential streets and the first row of the staff parking lot in spaces labels “visitor” only. Please do not park in spaces labeled “staff”. 

The white curb on the street in front of TK/K playground is a LOADING ZONE ONLY. If you are utilizing this loading zone curb please remain in your vehicle and do not get out to take your child to the entrance gate. All unattended vehicles are subject to be ticketed and/or towed. If you would like to walk your child to the entrance gate you must park your vehicle on the neighborhood streets and utilize the crosswalk with a crossing guard. 

Arrival: All TK/K students enter through Gate 11 (next to Office) ONLY! If Gate 11 is closed, please take your child to the main office so our registrar can correctly mark your student as tardy and escort them to class. If your TK/K student comes to school with an older sibling, please communicate to your older child that they need to drop their sibling off at Gate 11 (or the front office if Gate 11 is closed). 

Dismissal: Please identify the gate or location on campus where your child will be picked up, communicate the plan with your child, and be consistent on these practices. At dismissal, your kindergartener will be asked to point out their parent/guardian/daycare before leaving their teacher's side - be sure they know who to look for!

Breakfast & Lunch

Breakfast and lunch is available free of charge to all students. Breakfast is available fifteen minutes before TK/K arrival time. TK/K students may retrieve lunch from the cafeteria (Gate 5) at their dismissal time with a guardian's supervision.   Students must type in their Student ID Number.  Please help your child to memorize their student number (which will remain their ID number until leaving PUSD). 

Minimum Day Changes

On Minimum Days, all kindergarten students attend 8:10 am - 12:00 pm. Kindergarten dismissal is at 12:00 pm; the rest of the school is dismissed at 12:15 pm. Please plan accordingly as all Fairlands families will be picking up at the same time frame. Consider walking or carpooling for dismissal. 

Lunch is available at dismissal. With the entire school being released in the same short time frame, please park and walk your kindergartener to the MPR to pick up lunch. Please do not utilize the car loop, as students will be getting into their cars at this time.
