STUDIO ART 6
This introductory studio art course incorporates hands-on art making and art appreciation through historical and cultural examples, materials, techniques, and terminology in sculpture, painting, and drawing. Students are introduced to the elements and principles of art and design and are encouraged to develop and expand their creativity and artistic potential.
WHEEL- APPROXIMATELY 6 WEEKS
In 6th grade students work on learning the Principles and Elements of Art and Design.
This year, I am looking forward to doing a variety of creative and exciting activities in the Art program. In our class students learn how to create artwork through several processes.
The 6th grade curriculum is based on tools & techniques and the elements & principles of art. These are the building blocks regarding the four aspects of the discipline: art history, critique, art making and aesthetics. Art requires understanding of specific tools and techniques to create visual intention. A variety of materials and techniques will be introduced and explored.
All 6th grade students are exposed to a variety of projects and Art activities aligned with the Principles of Art and Elements of Design and Visual Art Standards.
