Year 7 students follow a compulsory curriculum that is largely determined by the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA).
As part of that curriculum, students must study a language. Each Year 7 student will be required to study TWO languages in 2023, one in Semester 1 and the other in Semester 2. They will then take ONE language for study in Year 8 2024. At PLC Sydney students have the choice of Chinese, French, Italian, Japanese or Latin. We would like to encourage students and parents to consider choosing both an Asian and a European language for their program of study in Year 7. This will help to ensure all students are exposed to both Asian and European perspectives and cultures.
In order to help us place your daughter in an appropriate language class next year, please complete the Year 7 Language Preference Form below.
NB: Please note that if you have already completed this form, you do not need to complete it again.
If you have any queries or would like to discuss your daughter’s Language choice, please contact:
