Pouring into my community is one of my top priorities in life. As a Plainfield graduate, I am eternally grateful to the teachers, coaches, and volunteers that gave hours and hours of their time to mentor and impact myself in such a positive manner. With that in mind, I am incredibly mindful of paying that same service forward to the future generations.
As a co-sponsor of our Riley Dance Marathon Club at PHS, I help guide students in various fundraising events to support Riley Childrens Hospital. We host the Homecoming Carnival, a silent auction, and the Dance Marathon itself. Our chapter consistently raises funds over $10,000 to donate to the hospital and provide life saving care for children from all around the state and nation.
As a head coach at the high school, I recognize the importance of investing in future generations. My cross country team participates in High-5 Friday at Guilford Elementary every fall. I know how much those students are looking for positive role models, and I think my team are an excellent example for them to follow.
Having a son involved in youth sports has inevitably led to my participation as well. For three seasons (2 spring and 1 fall), I have volunteered to coach in the Plainfield Optimist Baseball program. Although this Chicago Cubs fan was not willing to put on a jersey, I loved every minute of coaching the Jr. PeeWee Cardinals last spring, and am beyond excited to coach the Junior PeeWee A's this spring! Coached a Kindergarten team along with fellow PCSC teachers Dustin Stewart and Tyler Bless. (2025-2026)
Students from grades 3-8 participated in a distance running camp to encourage not only growth in the sport of running, but establishing lifelong healthy habits. (2024)
