STREAM Philosophy
Our program sparks curiosity through hands-on learning, fosters critical thinking, and emphasizes real-world problem-solving.
We nurture the innovative leaders of tomorrow through teamwork, collaboration, and creativity.
SCIENCE
Science is incorporated into STEAM through hands-on learning. Students do greenhouse science experiments, and plant in the STEAM greenhouse and outdoor garden. Fifth grade students participate in NYS science investigations.
TECHNOLOGY
Kindergarten through 5th grade students complete a media project each year. Media tools include: Draw & Tell, Buncee, Google Slides, Canva, WeVideo, etc. Students learn about various robotics and coding skills using robots and technology tools. Some of the robots we use are: Bee-Bot, Blue-Bot, Ozobot, Dash, Dot, Sphero, Blockly, Codeapillar, Coding Critter, Code-A-Mouse, Drones, etc.
RESEARCH
Research is incorporated throughout the various units in STEAM for all grades as part of the Engineering Design Process.
ENGINEERING
Students use the Engineering Design Process throughout many activities during STEAM. Students create blueprints, design products, and make necessary changes.
The ARTS
All students participate in International Dot Day. Each grade learns about how to use their Growth Mindset, and created an artistic masterpiece. We celebrate with a whole school celebration on International Dot Day Gallery Walk to view all the amazing projects!!
MATHEMATICS
Many mathematics skills are incorporated into STEAM lessons including counting, comparing, measuring, data table, graphing, and data analysis.
