About Mrs. Skiba
I was born and raised here in St. Louis. My husband Randy is an American Airlines pilot who is originally from Chicago. Yes, he is a Cubs fan! We enjoy traveling and working on the never-ending projects around the house.
After attending Truman State my freshman year, where I played on the tennis team, I attended the University of Missouri, earned a Master’s degree from Webster University, and completed a TESOL program from Southeast Missouri State University. For the last 5 years I have taught HPE at Pierrremont. Prior to that I was a classroom teacher at Ross and Green Trails, where I have experience in all grades K-5.
A focus on physical education and a healthy lifestyle runs deep in my family. In the early 1900s, my family became deeply rooted in the German Turnvereins of St. Louis where my grandparents competed competitively in both gymnastics and track. In turn, my parents were highly active in their high school athletics programs at Webster Groves where my dad excelled and ran track at the University of Missouri. My mom’s experiences led her to be a health and physical education teacher in both the Lindbergh and Mehlville School Districts. In retirement, she taught methods classes at UMSL
I have only one sibling, a younger sister who is also a teacher. After accepting a scholarship to MU to run track and cross country, Kally is now a health and physical education teacher at Rockwood South Middle School. She coaches the girls’ track and cross-country teams at Lindbergh High School and previously Eureka High School, where she has had the opportunity to work with some of the most outstanding runners to come out of St. Louis.
As you can see, athletics has had a HUGE impact on my life. Starting out as a classroom teacher, it just took me a bit longer to find my true home in the gym.
About Mrs. Wallace
I am so happy to be a part of the Pierremont community and am looking forward to another great year teaching with Mrs. Skiba!
I grew up in Manchester and attended Parkway schools for the first 13 years of my education. I went to Wren Hollow, Southwest Middle and South High. In high school I enjoyed playing basketball and swimming. After graduating high school I attended Missouri State University where I was on a scholarship to swim for their swim and dive team. I returned to St. Louis to do my student teaching and got a job at Hanna Woods where I taught for 8 years. As I was teaching, I completed my Master's degree from Lindenwood University. I am currently entering my 6th year at Pierremont.
I have two children, Oscar (6) and Crosby (2). My husband Todd works for NCSA, a company that helps student athletes. We love to get outside as much as possible. Most of our summer has been spent swimming at my parents neighborhood pool and climbing trees in our backyard.
