SUPPLEMENTAL VIDEOS
Part II = Wave Phenomena - light and/or sound
· Doppler Effect - the apparent change of frequency due to relative motion between source and observer
Reflection - 'bouncing' of waves off a barrier
Diffraction - bending of waves around barriers
Interference - combination of multiple waves
· Standing Waves – result of a reflected wave interfering with the original wave
· Resonance - amplification using natural (resonant) frequency of objects
Dispersion - separation of polychromatic light
· Refraction - bending of light at an interface due to change in speed – includes Index of Refraction and Snell’s Law (large sub-topic of waves)
(optional) - Critical Angle - the angle of incidence beyond which Total Internal Reflection occurs. Example - fiber optic cable
