Port Jervis High School welcomes back its Science Olympiad Teams, after having competed this past Saturday, February 9, 2019, in the Mid-Hudson Regional Competition held in Hopewell Junction, NY.

The team held a Krispy Kreme Fundraiser which raised enough money to purchase Team Shirts, breakfast, and lunch at the competition.

We are sad to see our seniors participate in their last Science Olympiad competition.

These seniors are Joe Natale, Kasey Samalot, Marcus Figorito, Brianna Moore, Besim Restelica, Steven Johnson, Michael Radigan, Leslie McKane, and Kaila Torres.

We look forward to seeing what our underclassmen will be ready to do next year.  These underclassmen are Anthony O’Leary, Logan Hoffman, Zander Dickinson, Adrianna Eddy, Leila Michelen-Sanchez, Shawn Galligan, Erika Hammond, and Angela Wright.

The new list of events will hopefully be revealed by the end of the school year, so that students can claim their events and get working on them.

CONGRATS TO ALL!! Showing up is half the achievement!

Congratulations to the 2018 Science Olympiad Team who competed against 27 other teams this past Saturday at SUNY Ulster at the Mid-Hudson Regional Competition.

The Science Olympiad is a national competition of nearly 25 events involving Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Earth Science, Engineering or Technology. High schools compete in 'C' division and middle schools compete in 'B' division.

Students competed in the following events: Anatomy & Physiology (Reiff/Taubes), Chemistry Lab(Cal/Johnson), Disease Detectives (Cal/Johnson), Ecology (Reiff/Taubes), Experimental Design (Hanham/Rhinehart), Fermi Questions (Cal/Johnson), Game On (Parker/Hanham), Herpetology (Cherry), Rocks & Minerals (Cherry/Taubes),  Thermodynamics (Restelica), Write It/Do It (Cherry/Taubes).

On March 17th of this year, our first ‘B’ division (middle school) Science Olympiad team will compete at Monroe-Woodbury Middle School and we wish them luck.
