Trip Rules and Guidelines

The following rules/guidelines apply to EVERYONE making trips away from school.

Trips include Honors Chorus, All-County, NC State Music Festivals, or any other trips outside of school. Going on field trips is a privilege.

Only students who display their best behavior and devotion to the Chorus while in rehearsal and at school will be invited to participate on trips.

These students will maintain a grade of 90 or above if they want to participate in off-campus events.

We are representing ourselves, our families, and E.B. Aycock Middle School at all times.

Students who withdraw from their commitment to a trip or festival due to behavior or personal plans may NOT receive refunds.

Day Trips:

All trips are school-related trips, and ALL SCHOOL RULES APPLY at all times!

Students and chaperones must be on time for all departures and meetings.

Students will respect themselves and others at all times.

Students will politely follow all directions given by the teacher or any other adult in charge.

If students are allowed to divide into groups, group members MUST stay together at ALL times.

A minimum of one adult chaperone must accompany each group. At least one group member/chaperone must have the accurate time. Please exchange cell numbers within the group.

Overnight Trips:

All “Day Trips” rules apply.

Students will be in their hotel rooms at the given curfew time.

Students will stay in their assigned rooms until the morning schedule begins.

Students will demonstrate their best behavior in all public places including their hotel rooms.
This means keeping the noise level down (voices, music, TV, etc.), using good manners when interacting with other people, and

cleaning up after themselves.

Students will respect the hotel’s property, their own property, and others’ property.

Any violation of the above Trip Guidelines will result in students calling their parents.
Participation
in upcoming field trips will be forfeited, and the E.B. Aycock administration will be notified so that appropriate consequences determined according to the Pitt County Code of Student Conduct can be assigned.

Students may also be denied an invitation to attend a chorus field trip under the following circumstances:

The student has an average Chorus grade lower than a B (80) during the current grading period

The student has been repeatedly tardy, sent to ISS or referred to the office

The student has missed more than five classes (for any reason) during the thirty day period prior to the trip and is not prepared to perform.
