World History 7/ Civics is a course that is designed to bridge the 6th and 8th grade social studies curricula. Our first marking period will be dedicated to the study of World History. The second marking period will be dedicated to the study of Civics. Over the course of this semester, we will be studying Europe after the fall of Rome, Eastern Civilizations, and the roots of American democracy. A goal of this course is to introduce the concepts, materials, and tools employed in the discipline of history. Throughout this course, we will learn to assess the reliability and importance of sources, events, and people. We will also focus on critical reading, writing, and note-taking strategies. I am looking forward to a fun, educational, and productive year.
