Students will begin dressing out in appropriate dance attire!
Students will report to the locker room before the tardy bell.
Students will have 6 minutes to change and then report to the dance room role call lines for attendance/dress check.
Students will be dismissed to the locker room at the last 6 minutes of class to dress out.
DRESS CODE/SUPPLIES NEEDED:
Dance classes require the proper equipment for class - equipment can be expensive so please make sure EVERYTHING is properly labeled with YOUR name. I cannot guarantee that any lost equipment will be returned. Being properly dressed out also includes having long hair pulled up and away from the face and neck and NO gum!
Reasons for Dress Codes in Dance:
-Proper dress is a visual reminder that students are part of a Dance class.-Uniformity cuts down on distractions and allows students to focus and concentrate on developing new skills.-Dress codes in dance look more professional and are part of the long history of dance. Dance involves discipline, respect, focus, and hard work. Dress codes are a part of that.-Having a dress code teaches students to take responsibility for themselves and their appearance.-Proper dress helps teachers to make important corrections with placement, alignment, lines, etc.
