Our East Side Parent Volunteers are the heart of our successful middle school band program. While students and directors provide the music, our parent support helps create the experiences that make band truly special. From organizing and assisting with concerts, coordinating transportation and logistics for competitions, helping with football game performances, and supporting fundraising efforts, volunteers play a vital role in ensuring every event runs smoothly. Their involvement allows directors to focus on teaching and inspiring students while creating a positive, well-organized environment where young musicians can thrive.

Beyond the practical support they provide, parent volunteers help build a strong sense of community within the band family. Whether assisting at social events, chaperoning trips, serving meals before performances, decorating for celebrations, or simply cheering from the stands, volunteers help create memories that students will cherish for years to come. Every hour donated—big or small—contributes to a culture of teamwork, pride, and excellence. Together, parents, students, and directors create opportunities that go far beyond music, fostering friendships, leadership skills, and experiences that make the middle school band journey unforgettable.

All Otto Parent Volunteers must complete a Plano ISD Voly Background Check (below) in order to be eligible to help at any event all school year. Please complete this form ASAP.
