As part of the Qatar National Identity Values Integration Program, students participated in an activity designed to raise awareness about online etiquette and promote respect and proper behavior in digital interactions.
Promoting Respect and Inclusivity
The teacher then read a carefully selected story about digital etiquette, sourced from Safe Space. The story highlighted scenarios of online communication and the importance of maintaining respectful and considerate interactions. To ensure a safe and inclusive environment, any student names in the story that matched class members were replaced to avoid potential teasing or bullying.
Following the story, the teacher engaged students in a discussion, asking thoughtful questions to explore the themes of the narrative. Students shared their reflections, discussed the consequences of poor online behavior, and brainstormed ways to demonstrate proper digital conduct.
This activity provided students with practical examples of netiquette, reinforcing the values of respect and accountability in their online interactions. It was a meaningful step in fostering a culture of responsible digital behavior.
